Seborrheic dermatitis is a condition that has cost many people a lot of time, money and confidence. The complex skin disorder manifests itself on the torso, face, and more commonly, the scalp. Itching and inflammation become very frequent with this disease, causing sufferers to seek treatment for relief even more than appearance purposes. It is thought to be due to the reaction between yeast and the skin, where sebum glands occur. Finding a cure to this has sadly proved to be impossible, due to the varied possible causes of seborrhea. However, it is possible to put it under control, making life a lot more bearable. Proper hygiene, including washing the skin and hair well is a major solution. For the scalp, it is important to use products that contain natural elements. For example, zinc can ensure that the sebum is not over-produced. This eliminates formation of fungus, which thrives on oils.
